Training sessions will be conducted through Microsoft Team Meetings in an online format, or through LMS or face-to-face delivery. Invitations for the meeting will be distributed one day before the commencement of the training program. Training is either delivered by an accredited training provider or an affiliate training center.

Introduction to OSHA/Local Government Agencies – 1 hour:

Overview of policies and regulations set by OSHA or local government agencies to ensure workplace health and safety.

Covers the purpose and scope of OSHA, its role in enforcing safety standards, inspecting workplaces, and providing education and outreach.

OSHA Focus Four Hazards – 5 hours:

Falls (minimum 1 hour and 30 minutes)

Electrocution (minimum 1 hour and 30 minutes)

Struck-By (e.g., falling objects, trucks, cranes) (30 minutes)

Caught-In or Between (e.g., trench hazards, equipment) (30 minutes)

Focus Four Training Requirements:

Training aims to raise awareness about the four most common causes of death in the construction industry: falls, electrocution, caught-in or between hazards, and struck-by hazards.

Training must be provided in a language and vocabulary that employees can understand and must be documented.

Student Objectives for Focus Four:

EO 1: Identify major hazards

EO 2: Describe types of hazards

EO 3: Protect oneself from these hazards

EO 4: Recognize employer requirements to protect workers from these hazards

Training Requirements:

Trainers must adhere to these objectives and use effective training techniques.

Personal Protective and Lifesaving Equipment – 1 hour

Health Hazards in Construction – 1 hour:

Topics may include noise, hazard communication, crystalline silica, or other construction health hazards.

Safety Leadership – 4 hours:

Training on developing leadership skills in safety, understanding safety culture, and leading safety meetings.

Emphasizes the role of a safety chair in promoting safety and compliance in the workplace.

Accident Investigation and Reporting – 4 hours:

Techniques and procedures for investigating workplace accidents, identifying root causes, and documenting findings.

Importance of accurate and timely reporting for preventing future incidents.

Emergency Response Planning – 4 hours:

Developing and implementing emergency response plans.

Coordinating with local emergency services and conducting emergency drills.

Ergonomics – 2 hours:

Principles of ergonomics and their application in preventing musculoskeletal disorders in the workplace.

Assessing ergonomic risks and implementing control measures.

Workplace Violence Prevention – 2 hours:

Identifying potential sources of workplace violence and strategies for prevention.

Training on de-escalation techniques and emergency response.

Risk Assessment and Management – 2 hours:

Identifying, assessing, and managing workplace risks.

Supervisory Skills – 4 hours:

Advanced Safety Topics – 6 hours:

In-depth coverage of specialized safety topics such as: a) Industrial Hygiene b) Environmental Safety c) Behavioral Safety d) Advanced Incident Analysis

Elective Topics – 6 hours:

At least three topics must be presented, with a minimum length of 1 hour each.

This course is designed to help you reach your goals at your own pace and on your schedule. Instructional contact time must be a minimum of 8 hours. Most students intend to complete their studies via online learning within 1 month.

All students must achieve a minimum 70% score to successfully pass the examination which shall be taken online through AISP assigned portal. After successful completion of the examination, students will get their results immediately on their registered emails. This is an open-book exam and students are permitted to use a separate browser window to review course content while taking the exam. If you do not pass the examination you may retake the examination. Students are allowed to take an exam three times within one month. During this time, students should review the course material to improve their understanding.
