Effective Occupational Safety and Health Committee Meetings course is designed to provide individuals with the knowledge and skills necessary to plan and conduct effective meetings that promote workplace health and safety. The course covers the following topics:

  • Importance of Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Committees
  • Role and responsibilities of OSH Committee members
  • Planning and preparing for OSH Committee meetings
  • Conducting effective OSH Committee meetings, including agenda development, effective communication techniques, and conflict resolution strategies
  • Recording and documenting meeting minutes and follow-up actions
  • Evaluating the effectiveness of OSH Committee meetings

By the end of the course, participants will have a better understanding of the importance of OSH Committee meetings and be equipped with the tools and techniques needed to plan and conduct effective meetings that promote a safe and healthy work environment.

This course is suitable for occupational health and safety professionals, supervisors, and members of OSH Committees who are looking to improve their skills and knowledge in this area.


  • Understanding of occupational safety and health committee purpose and responsibilities: The program covers the purpose and responsibilities of occupational safety and health committees, including their role in promoting a safe and healthy workplace.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and standards: The program covers the latest OSHA regulations, ANSI standards, and industry best practices in safety management, providing you with a comprehensive understanding of the field.
  • Ability to conduct effective occupational safety and health committee meetings: Upon completion of the program, you will have the skills to conduct effective occupational safety and health committee meetings, including how to develop agendas, lead discussions, and report on committee activities.
  • Understanding of effective communication and collaboration: The program covers the importance of effective communication and collaboration in promoting a safe and healthy workplace, and provides you with the skills to build and maintain strong relationships with employees, management, and other stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of occupational safety and health committee assessment and evaluation: The program covers the principles and practices of assessing and evaluating the effectiveness of occupational safety and health committees, including how to measure the success of committee activities and identify areas for improvement.

Training sessions will be conducted through Microsoft Team Meetings in an online format, or through LMS or face-to-face delivery. Invitations for the meeting will be distributed one day before the commencement of the training program. Training is either delivered by an accredited training provider or an affiliate training center.

Training should emphasize on the following contents;

  • Introduction to Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Committee Meetings: Purpose of OSH committee meetings, and the importance of effective OSH committee meetings.
  • OSH Committee Meeting Planning and Preparation: Identifying and inviting committee members, setting meeting agendas and objectives, and preparing necessary materials and documents.
  • Conducting Effective OSH Committee Meetings: Facilitating effective communication and collaboration among committee members, encouraging active participation and engagement from all members, keeping meetings organized and on track, and recording and documenting meeting minutes.
  • OSH Committee Meeting Follow-Up and Reporting: Reviewing and implementing action items from meetings, communicating updates and progress to management and employees, and identifying and addressing any obstacles or challenges.
  • OSH Program Evaluation and Continuous Improvement: Regularly evaluating the effectiveness of the OSH program, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes, and Ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • OSH Emergency Preparedness and Response: Developing emergency response plans, Identifying potential hazards and emergency scenarios, and training employees on emergency response procedures.

This course is designed to help you reach your goals at your own pace and on your schedule. Instructional contact time must be a minimum of 8 hours. Most students intend to complete their studies via online learning within 1 month.

All students must achieve a minimum 70% score to successfully pass the examination which shall be taken online through AISP assigned portal. After successful completion of the examination, students will get their results immediately on their registered emails. This is an open-book exam and students are permitted to use a separate browser window to review course content while taking the exam. If you do not pass the examination you may retake the examination. Students are allowed to take an exam three times within one month. During this time, students should review the course material to improve their understanding.
