The Electrical Safety for Managers course is designed to provide managers with a comprehensive understanding of electrical safety regulations and guidelines, and how to effectively manage electrical safety within their organization. This course is essential for managers who oversee electrical equipment, machinery, and systems, and are responsible for ensuring that their employees work safely and in compliance with electrical safety regulations.

Objectives:

  • To provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of electrical safety regulations and standards, including OSHA regulations and the National Electrical Code (NEC)
  • To explain the role of managers in ensuring electrical safety within the organization
  • To teach participants how to identify and assess electrical hazards and the dangers associated with electrical systems
  • To educate participants on the importance of electrical safety training for employees
  • To demonstrate the importance of electrical safety testing and inspection and the steps involved in de-energizing electrical systems

  • Understanding of electrical safety principles: The program covers the principles and practices of electrical safety, including the importance of protecting workers from electrical hazards in the workplace
  • Knowledge of electrical safety regulations and standards: The program covers the latest OSHA regulations and industry best practices in electrical safety, providing you with a comprehensive understanding of the field.
  • Ability to identify and assess electrical hazards: Upon completion of the program, you will have the skills to identify potential electrical hazards in the workplace and assess their level of risk.
  • Understanding of electrical safety equipment and procedures: The program covers the various types of electrical safety equipment and procedures, including how to choose and use the appropriate equipment and procedures for each task.
  • Knowledge of electrical safety training and education: The program covers the importance of training and educating employees on electrical safety, including how to develop and deliver effective electrical safety training programs.

Training sessions will be conducted through Microsoft Team Meetings in an online format, or through LMS or face-to-face delivery. Invitations for the meeting will be distributed one day before the commencement of the training program. Training is either delivered by an accredited training provider or an affiliate training center.

Training should emphasize on the following contents;

  • Introduction to Electrical Safety for Managers: Overview of the importance of electrical safety in the workplace, OSHA regulations and standards related to electrical safety.
  • Electrical Hazards and Risks: Understanding the types of electrical hazards and their potential consequences, identifying and assessing electrical hazards in the workplace, and developing and implementing effective risk management strategies.
  • Grounding and Bonding: Principles of grounding and bonding, types of grounding systems, ground fault protection and its importance.
  • Electrical Wiring and Equipment: Types of electrical wiring and equipment, installation, maintenance, and inspection of electrical wiring and equipment, and use of portable electrical tools and equipment.
  • Emergency Procedures: Developing and implementing emergency procedures for electrical emergencies and power outages, first aid for electrical injuries, and emergency shutdown procedures.
  • Electrical Safety Programs: Developing and implementing an electrical safety program, training and education for employees on electrical safety, auditing and monitoring electrical safety in the workplace.
  • Legal and Compliance: Understanding OSHA regulations and standards related to electrical safety, compliance with local, state and federal laws, liabilities and penalties for non-compliance.

This course is designed to help you reach your goals at your own pace and on your schedule. Instructional contact time must be a minimum of 8 hours. Most students intend to complete their studies via online learning within 1 month.

All students must achieve a minimum 70% score to successfully pass the examination which shall be taken online through AISP assigned portal. After successful completion of the examination, students will get their results immediately on their registered emails. This is an open-book exam and students are permitted to use a separate browser window to review course content while taking the exam. If you do not pass the examination you may retake the examination. Students are allowed to take an exam three times within one month. During this time, students should review the course material to improve their understanding.
