Personal Protective and Lifesaving Equipment Course:

This course is designed to educate workers in various industries on the proper selection, use, and maintenance of personal protective equipment (PPE) and lifesaving equipment. The goal of the course is to reduce the risk of injury and death in the workplace through increased awareness and knowledge of PPE and lifesaving equipment.

The course covers the following topics:

    Training sessions will be conducted through Microsoft Team Meetings in an online format, or through LMS or face-to-face delivery. Invitations for the meeting will be distributed one day before the commencement of the training program. Training is either delivered by an accredited training provider or an affiliate training center.

    Training should emphasize on the following contents;

    • Introduction to heat and cold stress, including the physiological effects of extreme temperatures on the body.
    • Identifying common causes of heat and cold stress in the workplace, such as working in high temperatures, prolonged exposure to cold temperatures, and working in humidity.
    • Understanding the OSHA standard for heat and cold stress, 29 CFR 1910.134
    • Implementing controls to prevent or reduce heat and cold stress, including the use of proper equipment and techniques, scheduling work to avoid extreme temperatures, and providing appropriate rest breaks.
    • Understanding the signs and symptoms of heat and cold stress and the importance of early recognition and treatment.
    • Proper use of PPE and clothing to protect from heat and cold stress
    • The importance of proper hydration, nutrition, and conditioning for working in extreme temperatures.
    • The importance of regular training and education on heat and cold stress and injury prevention.
    • The importance of workplace assessments to identify and control heat and cold stress hazards.
    • Final assessment and certification.

    This course is designed to help you reach your goals at your own pace and on your schedule. Instructional contact time must be a minimum of 8 hours. Most students intend to complete their studies via online learning within 1 month.

    All students must achieve a minimum 70% score to successfully pass the examination which shall be taken online through AISP assigned portal. After successful completion of the examination, students will get their results immediately on their registered emails. This is an open-book exam and students are permitted to use a separate browser window to review course content while taking the exam. If you do not pass the examination you may retake the examination. Students are allowed to take an exam three times within one month. During this time, students should review the course material to improve their understanding.
