The Walking and Working Surfaces including Fall Protection course is designed to educate employees on the hazards associated with walking and working on elevated surfaces, as well as the proper use of fall protection equipment. This OSHA-mandated training covers the requirements of the Walking and Working Surfaces standard and provides information on the proper procedures for preventing falls in the workplace.

Participants in the course will learn about:

  • The types of walking and working surfaces in the workplace and the associated hazards
  • The legal requirements for fall protection in the workplace
  • The proper selection and use of fall protection equipment, including personal fall arrest systems and guardrails
  • The procedures for fall rescue and emergency response
  • How to conduct a fall hazard assessment and identify potential fall hazards in the workplace
  • The importance of regular inspection and maintenance of fall protection equipment

This Walking and Working Surfaces including Fall Protection course is ideal for employees who work on elevated surfaces or who may be exposed to fall hazards in the course of their work, including construction workers, roofers, warehouse workers, and more.   • Understanding of walking and working surface hazards: The program covers the hazards associated with walking and working surfaces, including slip, trip, and fall hazards, and the importance of protecting employees from these hazards.

Training sessions will be conducted through Microsoft Team Meetings in an online format, or through LMS or face-to-face delivery. Invitations for the meeting will be distributed one day before the commencement of the training program. Training is either delivered by an accredited training provider or an affiliate training center.

  • Introduction to Walking and Working SurfacesOverview of the hazards associated with walking and working surfaces, the importance of fall protection in the workplace.
  • Identifying and Evaluating Fall Hazards:Characteristics of common fall hazards, methods for identifying fall hazards in the workplace,evaluation of fall hazards and the risk of injury.
  • Fall Protection Systems and Equipment:Types of fall protection systems and equipment, the proper selection, use, and maintenance of fall protection equipment, how to inspect and test fall protection equipment.
  • Training and EducationEmployee rights and responsibilities under OSHA standards, how employers must inform and train employees about fall hazards and fall protection, how to access and use hazard information.
  • Implementation and ComplianceSteps employers must take to implement a fall protection program, how to comply with OSHA standards for walking and working surfaces, recordkeeping and documentation requirements.

This course is designed to help you reach your goals at your own pace and on your schedule. Instructional contact time must be a minimum of 8 hours. Most students intend to complete their studies via online learning within 1 month.

All students must achieve a minimum 70% score to successfully pass the examination which shall be taken online through AISP assigned portal. After successful completion of the examination, students will get their results immediately on their registered emails. This is an open-book exam and students are permitted to use a separate browser window to review course content while taking the exam. If you do not pass the examination you may retake the examination. Students are allowed to take an exam three times within one month. During this time, students should review the course material to improve their understanding.
